International Torque Converters

International Torque Converters was founded in 1975 by Jim and Azzy Vartanian. Jim started in the business in 1965 at a very large transmission remanufacturing facility in Fresno, CA. He was hired on as an expert machinist, where he took on a difficult task at remanufacturing torque converters at the request of the owner.  Jim had nothing to work with but a hand full of tools and a lathe.  Within a few weeks Jim had designed and built the machinery needed to manufacture torque converters, and all necessary components such as torque converter welding machine, surfacing plates, alignment tools, jigs, etc.

Soon after, Jim went out on his own and started International Torque Converters.  Jim’s only focus was on quality and quality only.  For this reason and the loyalty of his customers, ITC has grown to be one of the premier torque converter facilities in the United States.
